Sussex REC Weather Links
Accurate and timely weather data is extremely important to electric utilities. Current and short term forecasts are useful in scheduling crews in anticipation of severe storms that can cause power outages. On especially hot or cold days, we can plan strategies on managing our system load to be sure the right amount of power is always available across our system. We also use historical weather data to forecast our load for the upcoming year. We then send the forecast to the power supply operation so they can buy enough power to meet our needs.
Since we have such an interest in weather information we thought we would share some useful links with you. As the old saying goes, everyone talks about the weather but no one does anything about it. Well, we can't help you do much about the weather so this page is devoted to providing you with links and information that will insure you have plenty of weather data to talk about!
What's here? Weather links, links to makers of weather instruments, a weather photo or two and links to software that you might find interesting. Enjoy and become the weather expert of your neighborhood.
