In Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative's 85 years of existence, it has been tradition for all members to have the opportunity to attend an Annual Meeting of Members in June. This event provided members with an opportunity to learn about the Co-op's projects of the past year, receive financial information of the Co-op, and interface directly with SREC's staff.
Due to the onset of the pandemic, we were forced to cancel our Annual Meeting in 2020 for the first time ever. In 2021, while restrictions on indoor gatherings were still in place, SREC conducted a pre-recorded Online Meeting in 2021 to best accommodate the health and safety of our members. The contents of this meeting can be found below in the "2021's Online Meeting" tab. This format allowed us to meet our need to deliver important information to our members, though without the usual in-person connection that an Annual Meeting allows for.
This year, Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative will be using what worked from last year's Online Meeting, and incorporating new member-focused ideas to create an exciting new Annual Meeting Event for 2022. We will be holding another pre-recorded Online Meeting on Monday, June 6th. The contents of this meeting will be uploaded to this page on this date, along with a registration form for an in-person Member Appreciation Event held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds during the NJ State Fair. Registering will earn you up to two free tickets to the Fair for the day of our event, Monday, August 8th.
On August 8th, SREC will have a tent at the NJ State Fair that will be staffed all day by our employees, CEO, and board members. We hope many of you stop by to speak with us throughout the day. Members who have registered through the form that will be added to this page for the Online Meeting will receive, in addition to their tickets to the Fair, a $10 bill credit and member appreciation gift. In addition, we will be holding a prize drawing at our tent. More details will be announced soon, so stay tuned!
